Beliefs of Wells of Joy

What We Believe

  • We believe that the Bible is the inspired, authoritative inerrant and infallible word of God (2 peter 1:21, 2 timothy 3:16)
  • We believe in the 39 old testament books and 27 new testament books
  • We believe in the Holy trinity; the God head consisting of the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit. These three are ONE ( 2nd Corinthians 13:14)
  • We believe in the deity of Jesus (Christ that He is God). His virgin birth, His atoning death, His bodily resurrection and His ascension into heaven. (John 10:30, 17:5 Philippians 2:6, Colossians 1:19; Titus 2:13, 1st timothy 3:16)
  • We believe in the personal and the pre-millennial return of Jesus Christ to receive unto Him the church which is referred to as Rapture. We believe that Christ will reign on the earth for one thousand years (millennium) with His saints (1st Thessalonians 4:16-17, Titus 2:13 Revelation 20:4, 21 and 22)
  • We believe that the universal church and the local church are the body of Jesus, the habitation of God through the Spirit with divine appointments for the fulfillment of the Great Commission. Each believer born of the Spirit is an integral part of the General Assembly and church of the first born of the Spirit which is written in heaven and that individual members of the local church must come together for worship and fellowship. (Ephesians 1:22-23, Hebrews 10:25)
  • We believe in the personal salvation through Jesus Christ, upon confession and belief in ones heart and that it is the work of God’s Grace. We also believe in the Ministry of the  Holy Ghost which manifests the fruit of the spirit  thereof (Isaiah 28:11, Luke 24: 49, Acts 2:1-4, Romans 10:9-10 Ephesians 2:8, Acts 10:46, Galatians 5:16,22). The gifts of the Spirit are to be earnestly desired. The gifts of the Holy Spirit are operational today and need to be practiced with order and restrain not to cause confusion The five-fold ministry is practical today i.e Teachers, Pastors, Evangelists, Prophets, and Apostles( today Apostles are the missionaries)
  • We believe in the believer’s baptism in water by immersion as public testimony to the world of the inward work of the grace of God. Immersion and the subsequent raising from the water are symbolic of the Christian dying to sin and to the world and rising with Jesus unto newness of life. Baptism is in the name of the Father, The son and the Holy Spirit. We do not consider   baptism which takes palace prior to the individual’s personal experience of salvation as scriptural (Matthew 28:19, Romans 6:4).
  • We believe in divine healing and that it is obtained on the basis of the atonement and faith in the healer Jesus Christ (Matthew 9:12 Mark 2:17, Mark 6:13, James 5:14-15, 1st Pater 2:24 Exodus 2:26, Psalms 103:3, Isaiah 53).  We also believe in the medical care.  It is our believe that God uses the modern medicine to heal and members should seek medical attention whenever they are sick.
  • We believe in the existence of Satan and the daemons. We believe that the devil, Satan, does not possess the attributes of God and God restrains him. We believe in the casting out of demons.  We believe that they together with those whose names are not written in the book of life will finally be judged by God and consigned to the everlasting punishment in the Lake of fire which burns with fire and brimstone. (Revelation 19:20, 20:10-15)
